Over 400 athletes have taken part in the Athlete Enhancement Program (AEP) since 2008. In the fall of 2018, an expanded model of AEP launched that is more accessible for individual athletes and provides options for teams and coaches.

AEP is an athlete support program of ASDC aimed to provide high-quality sports science support to emerging high-performance athletes in their regions. AEP provides athletes with an opportunity to receive non-technical support to improve their sports performance (strength & conditioning, sports nutrition, mental skills, etc.) and develop foundational building blocks for improved future performance.

AEP training follows the established Long-Term Athlete Development (LTAD) framework and scientifically-driven performance strategies to guide programming. Utilizing the top sport science professionals in the region, ASDC SW provides athletes with the latest scientifically supported information in a variety of areas of athlete development.

Starting the week of October 13 and wrapping up the week of December 7, the ASDC SW in partnership with the UofL High Performance Centre will be delivering AEP Fall 2020. This program will offer in-person strength and conditioning at the UofL HP Centre, at-home workouts delivered through VOLT, and group educational sport science sessions delivered through Zoom.

Athletes will select a training group and must remain in that group for the entire program.

Monday & Wednesday, 7-8PM
Tuesday & Thursday, 7-8PM

Athletes will get access to VOLT for at-home supplemental workouts to take their training to another level. The program will start with performance testing and every other week a WINNING EDGE sport science session will be offered through Zoom (the Zoom link will be emailed a couple days prior the session date). These Zoom sessions will be offered on a Sunday evening from 7-8PM and will be available to watch on YouTube afterwards.

Winning Edge Seminar Dates: October 18, November 1, November 15, November 29

This program is available to individuals born 2002-2008 and each training program will be based on individual ability and experience.

Once registered, athletes will be sent a form to fill out and information about how we are managing the health and safety of athletes taking part in the program. It is important for parents to note that they will not be allowed in the HP Room due to space restrictions and safety.
