ASDC SW and the LC Kodiaks Running Prep program combines technical skill training with Winning Edge sports science sessions. Runners between ages of 14 and 18 will develop base training, improve running efficiency, learn training principles and sports science aspects of running.
Athletes will leave the program prepared for competition and an increased knowledge of the science behind running.
Training Schedule July 3rd to August 23rd 7:00 to 8:00 PM Tuesday and Thursday
Locations: Nicholas Sheran Lake, Fort Whoop Up, Aperture Park, Runners Soul and other locations in Lethbridge.
Head Coach Danny Robdrup is a member of the Lethbridge College Kodiaks cross country and track team. Danny focuses on triathlon and represented Canada at the 2017 ITU Long Course World Championship and at Nationals for Lethbridge College in cross country in Sainte-Thérèse, Que., November 2017.
Athletes will have a Training Peaks account setup and will be required to log their workouts or have them auto upload with a GPS watch/phone. The plan will be delivered over Training Peaks and will have a full schedule, including non-meeting days and recovery days mixed in. Runs will occur at various locations in Lethbridge, such as: Nicholas Sheran Park, Henderson Lake Park, and Lethbridge College.
(Smartwatch with GPS is not required for the program)
Athletes will have a slo-motion video captured to review technique and form.
Winning Edge Sessions include; nutrition, mental training, flexibility/stretching, run form and shoe selection/injury prevention.
